The monastery exists since 2006. The people who live in the monastery community have taken the vow to live such a life with all ramifications.
Inko Susanne Motz,
a former social pedagogue, has been living in Fumonji since 2002. She has worked in all areas and today, as Tenzo, runs both the kitchen and housekeeping. Of all the different diets that we offer in our courses about Wholesome Living, she has taken the essence and never ceases to surprise us with new and very delicious dishes. In her spare time she is finally writing the Fumonji cookbook for the many people who are eagerly waiting for it. Her Qi Gong training (an ancient healing and movement meditation) helps to cultivate mindfulness with the body during the courses and in everyday life. She has also received JSJ training and practises this art for herself and others. Most course participants know her well and her cheerful laughter is a warm welcome. She is a member of the Sangha council.
Enko Maria Hofmeister
has been living at Fumonji since 2006, exchanging her beloved job as a teacher at the Waldorf School in Munich for a life in the monastery. She has worked in several areas already and today runs the office in her devoted way as a spiritual practice. Her training as tea-student shows in the calmness and clarity which she keeps during often hectic times. She has positioned the tea ceremony firmly in Fumonji. Her eurythmy training adds experience to the art of movement. She took JSJ training too and being able to assist during JSJ courses is a welcome change from office work. Through her longstanding membership with Jikishin Kai in Munich, she knows many Sangha members. She is a member of the Sangha council.
Genpo Christoph Hahn and Ichido Manfred Huber are external members of the monastery community and live in Munich. They actively support Fumonji and are both active as lecturers and members of the Sangha council. Genpo Christoph Hahn is a Soto monk. He has been ordained by his teacher Ryuko Furusaka Roshi and works as journalist in Munich. Ichido Manfred Huber supports Fumonji and the Sangha group Jikishin Kai in Munich whenever his schedule as a grammar school teacher allows it.
